Silver linings emerge and an unexpected ray of hope spreads.
I remember when I was a little girl. Every evening we would go for a walk as a family through the golf course or to the local corner store to buy an ice cream or a few lollies. My weekends were spent in the garden throwing the ball for the dogs, helping dad in the garden. Catching tadpoles and riding our bikes all day long.
I am not sure at what point that was lost but I know life became hectic. Consumed by constant stimulation. A world where information travels fast and we almost know too much.
Are the silver linings a reason for change!
Then COVID-19 arrived. All of a sudden it felt like the world as we knew it was ending. At first, fear hit. It seemed to me like the world was going to end. But then the silver linings started to appear and I have to say I have found peace.
I started to notice families out on our street walking together. For the first time in what feels like a lifetime, there are husbands and wives, brothers and sisters together. No phone, no technology. On their bikes, with the dogs, enjoying the simple things in life. Spending quality time connecting.
I can only speak for myself but it has made me truly stop and take notice of what is truly important to me. It has helped me to decipher what is really important to me and what is just filling time.
I can’t help but feel like life is better for this. Of course, I miss my clients and my close friends. But I love having the opportunity to take the time out with our families. Reconnect with each other.
Have your dreams changed?
Our world has changed for the time being. I think that now is the perfect time for us to all stop and take stock of the road we are travelling.
Ask yourself today what will you take from this time? Are your dreams the same as they were before COVID-19 and how will you action your dreams moving forward?
I would love to know your wildest dreams. Comment below so I can cheer you along
